Eurasia recognizes people as the most important factor in ship management service delivery. For this, a robust overview of employee's performance is obtained by a quarterly performance appraisal. This appraisal also identifies training needs and ensures delivery of identified training through Eurasia in-house training center and its network of specialised training institutes.

A robust system of performance measurement of vessel and shore based staff is in place in Eurasia addressing:

  • Competence, without which in the high-risk business of ship management, millions of dollars and several lives can be at stake
  • Value system, without which business viability is at stake
  • Employee satisfaction, without which high turnover can result in the erosion of human capital
  • Motivation, without which poor performance can result in customer dissatisfaction
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity, without which poor teamwork would result in inefficiency
Annual increments and rewards to each individual are based on their performance, but this is not the sole criterion. The annual appraisals ensure that there is parity among individuals in their increments vis-à-vis the peers so that no one is under rewarded and there is direct correlation between performance and reward.

All performance review mechanisms provide an input to future development of the goals and setting clear leadership direction. These reviews also provide a necessary forum to innovate in areas of service delivery, system improvement, product development, prioritising in the areas of action, and improvement in setting the resource allocation. The performance review findings also serve as inputs for the senior leadership to plan ahead.
