As our fleet has expanded, so has the Eurasia community, which is spread across India and the world. The spread is not just geographical, there are seafarers in the same city but on assignments with different Eurasia fleet ships.
Whatever the manifestation, seafarers are an isolated lot both on board and ashore. Yet they have much in common and easily bond in a strenuous environment and when they meet, the camaraderie is strong. This is how we started the Circle Eurasia initiative, which gives our Seafarers and their families an opportunity to network and connect with their colleagues.
Most important constituents of Circle Eurasia are the seafarers' families, who play a vital role in their unique professional life. They lend strength and moral support to the seafarers and also guide them in their career decisions. They are an integral part of a seafaring profession and deserve recognition for their silent contribution. The camaraderie amongst the families is even stronger than what is shared between seafarers and Circle Eurasia would provide a platform to harness this resource to its' potential. The following activates are envisaged for Circle Eurasia:
- Provide support to families of fellow Eurasians out at sea.
- Social get-togethers, picnics, games, competitions.
- Social causes and contributions, involving children where possible.
- Education and Career counseling for children.
- Professional discourses.
Through Circle Eurasia the families will be better informed of the organization activities and accomplishments. They will be drawn closer to the corporate and have a sense of belonging. All this would of course translate to a more comfortable career path for the officers, providing them a harmonious link between ship and shore.
